They use prices from Ofgem, install cost data from MCS-certified suppliers, energy use averages from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the rules of the government Boiler Upgrade Scheme as they stood on the date last reviewed. Real quotes will vary by installer, by site, and over time.

Not a substitute for professional advice

Before you commit to any home upgrade, get three written quotes from MCS-certified installers. Speak to a qualified energy assessor about your home's insulation and heat loss. If you are taking out finance to pay for an upgrade, speak to a regulated financial adviser. The calculator does not replace any of these.
